Staff Nurse | Job in Kent

As a Staff Nurse - Pre-operative, the following skills are essential for success in this role:

  • Nursing Education and Licensure: A Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) or an Associate's degree in Nursing (ADN) is required, along with a current, active registered nursing license in the state of South East.

  • Pre-Operative Care Knowledge: Extensive knowledge of pre-operative patient assessment, preparation, and care is necessary. This includes understanding anesthesia, surgical procedures, and post-operative recovery plans.

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in various nursing techniques such as intravenous therapy, medication administration, and monitoring vital signs is essential. Familiarity with electronic health records systems is also a must.

  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills are necessary to effectively collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals. The ability to empathize with patients and their families during stressful situations is crucial.

  • Patient Assessment and Critical Thinking: Skills in patient assessment, including recognizing abnormal vital signs or symptoms that may require immediate intervention, are essential. Strong critical thinking abilities are necessary for making quick, accurate decisions in high-pressure situations.
